LOCATION: Fully Remote Eligible within CONUS
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret
POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS: Full-time/40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:


This position will provide support to Space Systems Command (SSC) by coordinating with senior leadership to develop and submit an annual Strategic Communications Plan that will be used to gather, maintain, retrieve, and distribute information; measure, forecast, approve, present and report performance; and manage internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain and update the Strategic Communications Plan on the SharePoint site monthly or as required and formally update and deliver the Strategic Communications Plan annually.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Communications Planning Activities:

Support strategic communications planning activities to include sustainment activities, tracking, and managing progress, and reporting to the Director.

Supporting Director's Vision and Intent:

Assist with communicating the Director's vision and intent to the SSC Contracting workforce and shall plan, coordinate, and execute Directorate-level organizational events.

Prepare Speeches, Presentations and Media:

Develop and write off-base and on-base speeches and presentations for the FOG and create, edit, and publish internal program media.

Record and Provide Results of Activities:

Record the results of the Strategic Communications Plan activities to support the FOG and provide to the Government lead(s) upon request

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Master's degree (English, Journalism, Communications or related Major)
  • Fifteen years DoD experience as a professional writer or editor, published author, or technical writer that translates specialized data for laypersons


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not supervise the work of others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
