We're seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a high-impact contract with a leading Federal research and health agency. The position is located in Morrisville, NC.

Project Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of network or telecommunications components to drive network efficiency and availability.
- Maintain network quality standards to achieve optimal levels of operation and service level agreement (SLA)/KPI targets.
- Tracks and monitors network traffic and performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission and/or network switches.
-Corrects network problems effectively and in a timely manner. Integrates initiatives, industrialization, and efficiencies to network facilities for improvements (i.e., enhancements, updates, upgrades, and new systems).
- Continuously revises procedures and uses tools to monitor network performance.
Project Specific Requirements:
- A related Bachelor's degree is preferred (Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology); however, additional equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum five years of demonstrated experience as a network engineer, administrator, or telecommunications engineer.
- Experience with Cisco network infrastructure devices, specifically Cisco 9200-series, 9400-series, 9k, FEX, and Firepower appliances.
- Experience with automation and software defined network (SDN) capabilities.
- Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and MAC-based solutions.
- Due to agency and contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship.
- This is an on-site position.
- Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Morrisville, NC

Preferred Key Skills and Abilities (not contractually required):
- Familiarity with automation and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible
- CCNP certification or higher - provide credential number and expiration date

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
