Staff Accountant with Treasury Experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with treasury experience to support our accounting department. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, while also assisting with treasury-related activities such as cash flow monitoring and banking transactions. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles and a basic understanding of treasury operations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional looking to expand their accounting expertise while gaining valuable treasury experience.

Accounting Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including financial reporting.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations in all accounting activities.

Treasury Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support banking relationship management.
• Process wire transfers, ACH payments, and intercompany transactions as needed.
• Support the preparation of treasury reports for management review.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance (pass a criminal background and credit check).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-8 years of accounting experience, with exposure to treasury functions preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational abilities with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in construction accounting is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is a plus but not mandatory.
