Project/Unit Description
The Secure Information Systems (SIS) Division of the CIPHER Laboratory is seeking an individual to serve as a Solutions Architect for the Secure Web Services portfolio within the Agile Special Project Enterprise mission. This position will be responsible for system networking, architecture design, system administration, and application virtualization in a security sensitive environment.
This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership and strong technical ability. Prior experience or familiarity with DoD IT architectures, data models, and systems is a huge plus. The position will require the candidate to rapidly ramp up on legacy architectures and design and strive to contribute to greenfield improvements. The candidate will also be expected to possess the ability to work effectively with government cyber & accrediting authorities, as well as, other authorizing officials.
While this position is eligible for (some) remote work, however there will be a hard requirement to perform activities on-site 3 days/week.
Job Purpose
The Solution Architect defines, conceptualizes, describes, and manages an engineering solution specific to the enterprise system. Responsible for understanding the architecture, design, and development of software built for sponsors and running on secure cloud computing networks, specifically focusing on fully automated deployments. Additional responsibilities include understanding how integration with third-party software vendors will impact the system and providing guidance on impact to the enterprise. This position will interact with government sponsors and government technical experts to translate business requirements into technical requirements and provide guidance to technical teams for execution of requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Understand the architecture, design, development, and deployment of the system in relation to the enterprise.
• Understands how integration with third-party software vendors will impact the system and providing guidance on impact to the enterprise. -Applies computer science concept and principles to solve problems at the enterprise level.
• Understands the System Architecture design (compute, hardware/virtual, OS, storage, networking, security) and how new requirements may impact the design
• Is a prime contributor to the requirements, design, or development of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CICD) processes using DevOps and DevSecOps principles.
• Understands and employs best practices such as Architecture as Code
Additional Responsibilities
• Install and maintain Linux environments
• Successfully participate in and comply with Configuration Management controls
• Design and build secure infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and remediate networking issues
• Research and prototype new technologies related to integration, delivery, fabric, and/or architecture
• Build custom software packages in industry-standard formats such as Red Hat or RPM
• Provide Virtual Machine management
Required Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
• Willingness to comply with DoD 8140 qualification or certification
• Willingness to obtain a Master's degree
• Ability and willingness to work onsite 3 days/week in Atlanta, GA
• Prior experience as a Linux system administrator
• Technical diagnostic expertise including problem investigation, reproduction, and resolution skills

• Demonstrated insistance on taking ownership of their domain of expertise
• Understands and can implement CI/CD strategies
• Prior hands-on experience with Security Enhanced Linux
• Prior hands-on experience with networked disk storage solutions such as NetApp or vSAN
• Prior hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Prior hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk or AppDynamics
• Prior hands-on experience with code tooling such as SonarQube, GitHub, or Coverity
• Prior-hands on experience with server technologies such as Tomcat or Apache
• Prior experience with information systems accredited under the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Strong communication skills; ability to speak to and influence engineers, product and project managers, corporate leadership, partners, and customers
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to rapidly develop and cultivate relationships with peers, partners, and key influencers
