ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical/Marine Engineer to join our team supporting several Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) programs in Glen Burnie, MD.
This position has the possibility of being Remote.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide variety of design and analysis activities related to hovercraft, ships, boats, and other marine systems in support of ManTech's military and commercial customers.
- Act as task lead on design and analysis activities related to ACV system development, fabrication, and installation support.
- Collaborate with goal-oriented project teams, including other engineers, program managers, and CAD designers.
- Manage task requirements and work execution timelines by developing Plans of Actions with Milestones (POAMs) with minimal guidance from supervisor.
- Continually review technical data to identify and diagnose problems such as system interface issues, part interferences, hardware incompatibility, and provide recommended solutions to the team.
- Plan and conduct research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with customer requirements, best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
- Produce high-quality deliverable reports documenting procedures and results of design and analysis activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in naval architecture or marine engineering and four or more (4+) years' experience in relevant fields. Mechanical engineering may suffice with sufficient relevant experience.
- One or more (1+) years' experience with composite materials, including basic understanding of design methods, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficient with Finite Element Analysis, preferably with NX Nastran.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
- Ability to travel and perform ship inspections as needed and system prototype installations.
- Ability to utilize spreadsheets to program first-principle and empirical design equations.
- Ability to generate high-quality design and analysis reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with the US Navy, including on active duty, government civilian, or support contractor.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics.
- Ability to generate complete functional 3D model assemblies.
- Ability to generate complete high-quality 2D drawing packages.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain/ maintain a Secret security Clearance.
