All Points is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for effectively and professionally conducting activities associated with the purchasing and negotiation of requested orders on behalf of the program and government. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES:
All Points is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for effectively and professionally conducting activities associated with the purchasing and negotiation of requested orders on behalf of the program and government. The candidate should have detailed knowledge and understanding of Federal procurement guidelines, concepts, principles, and practices.
- Procures quality goods and/or services at an acceptable price that meets the organization's needs, and assures those needs are met in a timely manner.
- Develops positive relationships with vendors and suppliers, reviews costs, negotiates to get the lowest possible prices, resolves price disputes, and recommends where and how much material and supplies to buy.
- Discovers ways to improve the bidding process, places bids to obtain the business of new vendors, negotiates contracts and contract renewals, and monitors all aspects of the terms of contracts.
- Manages and maintains an inventory of supplies and materials, chooses how much material to keep on hand, tracks which supplies are consumed fastest, identifies when supplies are running low, and places and tracks orders with the appropriate vendors and suppliers.
- Able to be resourceful, open-minded, and use problem-solving skills to identify solutions to unique procurement situations
- Sourcing supplies to countries around the globe
- Work with members of the procurement team for payments and shipping
- Work as the lead for finding where to source products/materials and obtain quotes
- Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors on behalf of the government.
- Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable supplier.
- Interacting with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and the status of orders.
- Ability to maintain strong organizational skills regarding policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
- Input and maintain procurement documentation
- May require infrequent international travel
- High school diploma required; associates or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
- 8+ Years
- Skilled in negotiations, seeking competitive pricing, skilled in finding ways to accelerate our place in the shipping queue to get supplies faster
- Strong understanding of FAR/DFAR rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of VAT exemptions preferred
- Previous NASA or Government procurement experience is preferred
- Proficient with MS Office Programs, CostPoint, SharePoint, database queries and reports.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, analysis skills.
- Ability to follow procurement processes
- Ability to work independently and multi-task various projects.
- United States Citizenship requies
- Must be able to pass NACI/Background/Badging
