General Summary
Build and maintain DoD computer systems and networks with cyber concepts in mind to verify the DoD customers operating securely and that data is protected from both internal and external threats. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with end users to properly build and maintain the network for very specific software functionality needed (i.e., multicast, broadcast, etc.) The candidate will maintain system security status and ensures compliance to security policies, procedures and standards with regards to the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Common tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, and DISA Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) will be used. This position is located on Redstone Arsenal, AL and is 100% onsite.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
• Design, support, and manage a multi-zone network architecture.
• Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission.
• Analyze local and wide area network systems, to include testing.
• Resolve complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
• Configure communication media with routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
• Configure routine systems to user environments.
• Participate in planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems.
• Conduct internal studies and research.
• Support acquisition of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services as needed.
• Provide technical support to various departments and users.
• Serve as liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.
• May serve as technical lead for lower-level employees.
• May assist in proposal prep for new solutions.

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with 8 years' of related experience OR High School Diploma with 16 years' of related experience
- Active CCNA Certification
- Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 IAT II/III Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship is required; Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Have had or current Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Knowledge of SolarWinds
- Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine and 802.1X
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Visio
- Knowledge of layer 2 switching, such as access interfaces and 802.1q trunking
- Experience with OSI 7 layer model
- Experience with Static, Dynamic, and Layer 3 routing
- ITIL knowledge
