CSCI, a trusted classified environment partner for over 30 years, is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer with 2- 5 years of experience with digital imagery, digital video, and the technical aspects of photography. The individual will support CSCI Technical Solutions Group (TSG) research and development projects by providing systems and network administration and developing basic competency with existing systems and networks. TSG is made up of a group of approximately 32 team members who support client needs on site, on the road, and from remote locations providing services in the areas of information technology systems integration & engineering, software application development, and Cybersecurity analysis. The Computer Vision Engineer will work with a small team to solve problems and explore new technologies to support client needs onsite, on the road, and from remote locations.
The ideal candidate for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative and will communicate often to relay successes and challenges to their leadership. This position will require the successful candidate to learn and understand existing systems/environments to provide optimal support for developing, testing, and delivering systems to CSCI and TSG customers.
This position will require presence in a professional office setting in Springfield, VA, and onsite support for evening testing and or demonstration activities. The successful candidate will be willing to work a flexible 40-hour week that includes day and evening work, with the potential for occasional travel.

Required Qualifications:
This position will require presence in a professional office setting in Springfield, VA, 5 days per week, Mon - Fri, willing to work a flexible 40-hour week that includes day and evening work, with the potential for occasional travel.
LEVEL 1 - Entry Level and a minimum of 1 year of work experience in a professional environment.
LEVEL 2 - requires a minimum of 2 years related experience.
LEVEL 3 - requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.
LEVEL 4 - requires a minimum of 8 years related experience.
LEVEL 5 - requires a minimum of 10 years related experience.
* This position qualifies as a level 2.

Responsibilities
The candidate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Learn CSCI proprietary image enhancement software to optimize technical systems administration and networking support.
- Establish or refine documentation and maintain an IP schema for project or contractual systems.
- Configure IP cameras with Real Time Streaming Protocols and video codecs such as H.264 and H.265.
- Support technical writers by providing information on the standard operating procedures for troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware, and systems.
- Work in a team environment in rotating roles and cross-train as needed. Roles range from participant to operator to event lead. This will include presenting in demonstrations and delivering with a customer.
- Research possible new image enhancement algorithms for integration into the system.
- Data analysis of system generated videos. Run/re-run video image processing for system analysis purposes. Repeat needed to optimize system settings for a variety of conditions and scenarios.
- Enter data for analysis in appropriate applications such as MS Excel or PowerBI.
- Provide hardware and software support to networked systems, switches, cameras, and network drives.
- Collaborate with senior network infrastructure engineers to integrate small tactical networks within enterprise networks when required.

- US Citizenship is required.
- BA/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 Years of experience with digital imagery, digital video, and computational photography.
- Hands-on experience implementing image processing or computational photography algorithms.
- Strong technical background in image and video processing and computational photography.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary digital sensors such as CMOS and CCD.
- Experience with IP-based cameras and streaming technology. Familiarity with setting up streaming IP cameras with RTMP/RTSP and related protocols such as H.265 and H.265.
- Practical experience with photography concepts such as focal length, depth of field, aperture, ISO, gain, shutter speed, imagery compression, imagery noise, lenses, storage, and digital media management.
- Candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively and with courteous professionalism while engaging with team members and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- The candidate must be or able to be cleared at a Secret security level.
- Experience with security cameras, imagery algorithms, imagery editing, video editing, imagery processing, ONVIF profiles is preferred but not required.
- Experience with MediaMTX or SimpleRTSP applications is preferred but not required.
- Experience with video encoding/decoding and file formats.
- Experience with the raw image camera pipeline and image formats.
- Experience with onnx, coreml, and tensorRT runtime SDKs.
- Interest in photography or videography.
- Experience with VLANs, routing, unicast, and multicast and VLC are preferred but not required.
- Networking experience, including a working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, ethernet, LAN/WAN, wireless protocols, and streaming protocols.
- Basic understanding of logical ports, protocols, POE, and firewalls.
