The Senior Communications Analyst is a high-profile position requiring an experienced communications professional to support executive-level government officials with internal and external communications matters. The successful candidate will be an organized and energized self-starter capable of translating technical language from CWMD's technical programs into digestible soundbites of different types for different audiences, including Twitter, all-staff newsletters, senior leadership, and technical program offices.

Responsibilities :
- Synthesize information provided from across CWMD's complex programs and initiatives to enable the Communications & Partnership Engagement Chief and CWMD's senior leadership to discern key facts and issues.
- Prepare remarks to support CWMD leadership's weekly Town Halls.
- Draft and coordinate press releases to highlight CWMD accomplishments, as appropriate.
- Coordinate special projects such as Congressional briefs, fact sheets, academic journal submissions, and testimonies, as required.
- Conduct work in a (mostly) remote but fast-paced work environment, where deadlines and tasks may change frequently to reflect evolving priorities of CWMD senior executive leadership.
Qualifications :
- Must have BA/BS with minimum 11 years of experience in a communications/public affairs role, preferably in a government organization (or a MA/MS and minimum 8 years).
- Must possess strong writing skills, and the ability to synthesize information into any number of potential formats and lexicons, as appropriate to the eventual audience.
- Strong organizational and professional skills (e.g. time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail).
- Proficiency in various written and oral communications, to include AP and GPO writing styles.
