Senior SQL Server Developer/DBA

Plateau GRP is seeking a talented and experienced Senior SQL Server Developer with DBA (Database Administrator) experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient SQL Server databases, as well as ensuring their optimal performance, availability, and security. Your expertise in SQL Server development and database administration will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions.

Responsibilities:

SQL Server Development:

Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to analyze requirements and design database solutions.

Develop, test, and deploy SQL Server databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.

Optimize database design, schema, and queries to improve performance and scalability.

Implement and maintain data integrity and consistency through proper indexing, constraints, and relationships.

Troubleshoot and debug database-related issues, optimizing and enhancing existing database solutions.

Database Administration:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and statistics maintenance.

Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.

Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.

Perform regular health checks and proactive maintenance tasks to ensure database stability and reliability.

Database Monitoring and Performance Tuning:

Monitor database performance using various tools and techniques, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.

Analyze and optimize query execution plans, improving query performance and resource utilization.

Implement and configure database monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Identify and resolve database-related issues, such as locking, blocking, and data corruption

Requirements

Education and Experience:

10+ years of proven experience with SQL Developer and DBA Experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven work experience as a SQL Server Developer, with hands-on DBA experience.

Strong knowledge of SQL Server development, database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SQL Server development using T-SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.

Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.

Experience with SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Knowledge of query optimization techniques, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning.

Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases.

Understanding of database security concepts, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
