Job Description Summary
The Director of Edison Works Advanced Programs for GE Aerospace will be responsible for the oversight of the technology development strategy and budget, inclusive of all company as well as customer funded technology development programs. In this capacity, this role will occupy the Program Control Board chair to ensure programs are executed to meet scope, schedule, and cost requirements. This Director position will be responsible to develop and maintain GE's technology roadmaps as well as customer relationships necessary to define those roadmaps and position GE to compete for and win customer funded programs. Lastly, the Director of Edison Works Advanced Programs will provide leadership, mentoring, coaching and consultation to the program managers and teams executing GE's programs in this technology area.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Technology Leadership:
  • People leader for team of Program Managers that capture and execute programs with various customers.
  • Management of a portion of the Company Funded Development (CFD) budget. Strategic oversight of direction, approval of annual deliverables, management of execution, and reporting to senior leaders.
  • Technology Program Control Board chair. Decision authority for company and customer funded technology efforts. i.e. budget changes, deliverables, data rights, government property, etc.
  • Various Customer interface.


Additional duties :
  • Patent Evaluation Board member. Board approves/disapproves classified patent requests
  • IP Data Sharing Governance Board member. Board approves/disapproves policy for technology sharing with industry and government.
  • National Air and Space Intel Center (NASIC) Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (RADA) deputy.


Job Requirements
  • US Citizen; able to obtain a DoD TS clearance.
  • 8+ years of people leadership; mentoring, coaching, and developing large engineering teams
  • Experienced client relationship skills with advanced aerospace/aviation technology systems and programs
  • Experienced business and financial management


This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
