About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Special Security Officer t o join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Special Security Officer o versees access control and classified materials. The Security Analyst will apply security policies to meet security objectives of the system. As well as ensure all security operations and maintenance activities are documented, and assess the effectiveness of security controls.

Location: 100% on site - site location is Lexington, MA- Candidates should be flexible and comfortable responding to off-hours emergencies and local/overnight travel as needed (infrequent, but a possibility).

Period of Performance: This position will be a 2 year contract to start

As well as ensure all security operations and maintenance activities are documented, and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must be able to obtain a Active Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
Must Have:
- Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- 3 years - Ensures compliance with operational security and emergency action plans.
- 3 years - Experience as a Security Officer or Control Officer
- 3 years - Facilitates indoctrinations and debriefings, personnel file maintenance
- 3 years - Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases such as DISS
- 3 years - Investigates and documents security incidents, develops and manages corrective actions.
- 3 years - NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117 experience
- 3 years - Oversee facility access control and assist with drafting construction security plans
Requirements:
- Security compliance experience: being a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO), or Program Security Officer (PSO).
- Regulatory compliance experience: The ability to read, understand and apply government regulation, policies and procedure (DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives and manuals, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, applicable ICDs, etc.).
- Education: Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3 years of work experience.
- Computer skills: Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases such as DISS (Defense Information Security System).
- Knowledge of business software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, etc
- Active a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Active SCI access, or previous SCI access that was active within the previous 18 months
- Successfully adjudicated counterintelligence scope polygraph, adjudicated within the previous 4 years
- Consent to undergoing a government polygraph examination.
- Onsite 100% of the time for this role
- Interview process: one round zoom interview with the hiring team
