About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead LAN/WAN Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will provide expert-level guidance and technical direction for local- and wide-area networking solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and customers, leveraging deep knowledge of networking technologies and management tools. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, and other related network components, along with a solid understanding of advanced routing protocols and network architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Guidance: Serve as a technical leader in LAN/WAN networking, sought after by peers and stakeholders for advice, guidance, and solutions to complex network challenges.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives for both existing and new services on ad-hoc and established project teams, ensuring alignment with architectural and operational goals.
  • Networking Architecture & Design: Offer deep expertise in Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Implementation, and Integration to drive optimal network solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Potentially manage small teams of engineers, cyber specialists, and testers, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet technical specifications.
  • Cutting-edge Technologies: Stay ahead of emerging trends in network technologies and provide insights into new integrations and capabilities.
  • Consulting & Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, team leads, and customer stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical solutions, and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Network Management Tools: Utilize your deep expertise with tools such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Ruckus, Versa, NOM, NetScout, and other network components or monitoring solutions to manage and optimize network performance.
  • Routing & Protocol Expertise: Offer hands-on experience with key protocols like BGP, OSPF, GRE Tunnels, SudoWire, VPN, L2TP, and Spine and Leaf architecture, ensuring the network operates efficiently and securely.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, OR
    • Master's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
    • An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive experience with network components such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Ruckus, Versa, NOM, NetScout, and related network management tools.
    • Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, GRE Tunnels, VPNs (L2TP, SudoWire), and Spine and Leaf architectures.
  • Certifications:
    • IAT II (or industry equivalent).
    • CCNP, CCIE (or industry equivalent).
  • Security Clearance:
    • Active TS security clearance or with the ability to obtain SCI and a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Expertise in advanced network troubleshooting and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge networking technologies such as SDN, network automation, and cloud networking.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
