Our Technical Writers are responsible for documenting processes, procedures, training manuals and other necessary documents to ensure we meet or exceed our customer's requirements and expectations. You will use all the multimedia tools at your disposal to ensure understanding and effectiveness. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure accuracy, and update documents as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and proofread a wide variety of administrative, operational, and technical documents.
  • Create and update clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documents, including user manuals, guides, training materials, and other documents.
  • Organize information logically and intuitively, using headings, tables, figures, and lists to enhance readability.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts into easily understandable language, avoiding jargon and acronyms when possible.
  • Incorporate multimedia elements, such as images, videos, and interactive elements, to enhance the effectiveness of documentation.
  • Write documents in compliance with government and/or company established standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Maintain version control of documents and update them as necessary to reflect changes in technology or processes.
  • Maintain ISO compliance.
  • Evaluate and recommend revisions to standards and guidelines.
  • Manage documentation projects, including timelines, resources, and deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in spelling and grammar.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software package.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels.
  • Demonstrate a professional work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of geography.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Professional Writing, Technical Writing, English/English Literature, or related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive criminal and credit history background investigation.
  • Current, active Secret-level security clearance preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a technical writing position.
  • Proven experience writing in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • Travel:
    • Occasional travel may be required.

There is an on-site expectation with work-from-home flexibility for this role. Operational needs and our telework policy determine your work location. You must live within a 90-mile radius of the National Visa Center, located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to be considered. You must also pass a computer-based skills assessment.
