GDIT has an exciting opening on our EMITS team for a Systems Engineer/Database Support Specialist supporting U.S. Army Europe in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The Systems Engineer/Database Specialist will be responsible for Providing expertise in the formulation of systems' scope and objectives. They will determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information and evaluating output requirements and formats. The Specialist will also be responsible for designing and developing computer system specifications that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's/customer's information systems architecture standards.

Work Requirements
The Systems Engineer/Database Specialist will be responsible for Providing expertise in the formulation of systems' scope and objectives. The Specialist will also be responsible for designing and developing computer system specifications that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's/customer's information systems architecture standards.
HOW ASYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Creates or modifies procedures to solve technical problems related to computer systems and programs.
- Analyzes complex information from system users and formulates the scope, objectives and solutions for systems needs with limited supervision.
- Performs SharePoint portal administration and management
- Assists with development and support of regulations and policies.
- Coordinates with other organizations within the DoD to facilitate information sharing.
- Under limited supervision, prepare and maintain technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and software requirements analysis.
- Conducts data mining through numerous database sources to support Force Protection and Law Enforcement inquiries.
- Performs detailed analysis and systems design.
- Conducts user training on application and policy
- Supports and creates system documentation including Standard Operating Procedures. (SOPs)
- May train and review/audit the work of application users.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Security Clearance Required: Secret Level Security Clearance
- Skills: Experience with biometrics concepts and software.
- Experience: Familiarity with Databases, SQL queries and Systems/Network support
- Certifications: Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1. Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
- Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements.
TESA requirements:
- A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
