As a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you will be a member of the Land Warfare and Missile Defense System Engineering Department supporting multiple program efforts through use of System Engineering and System Architecture skills.

This position requires periodic domestic travel as an integral part of supporting the warfighters and associated organizations.

This is an On-Site role at Raytheon Technologies Facility in Colorado Springs

What You will Do :
  • You will be a part of a team of system engineers using effective agile processes, software, and artifacts for the Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems Engineering Department on-site at Raytheon Technologies facility in Colorado Springs.
  • You will research products across the Raytheon portfolios to develop a "Family of Product" classes and attributes
  • You will develop "Family of Product" architectural views, capability views and roadmaps, focusing on composable components.
  • You will provide expertise on the development of Product Component Requirements Documentation
  • You will monitor and evaluate progress at each stage of the project through Agile tools, such as JIRA.
  • You will participate in scrum meetings, daily tag-ups, planning meetings and other scrum ceremonies
  • You will report and track problems, and working with stakeholders to resolve problems and remove roadblocks


Qualifications You Must Have :
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and ten (10) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
    • Experience in Systems Engineering processes, activities, approaches, and life cycle models
    • Experience developing Systems Engineering products such as Concept of Operations, Use Cases, Architecture diagrams, requirements, block and interface diagrams, risk analysis, trade studies, prototypes, and/or test reports
    • Experience with Agile tools, such as JIRA
    • Experience evaluating technical documents and specifications
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer :
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Experience using Agile development practices and execution of Agile programs as either a Product Owner or Scrum Master
  • Experience working in a Missile Defense Systems Domain
  • Working experience with US Army and Marine Corps effectors / missiles, sensors, and weapon systems
  • Experience using Unix or Linux computing environments
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience guiding systems architecture projects
  • Experience spearheading Formal Technical Reviews
  • Experience working directly with Stakeholders

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
