Position: Application Developer - Journeyman
Customer: USAF
Location: Eglin AFB, FL

Position Description:

Develop, customize, and maintain the ticketing and ITSM application using Java and C#.
Additional duties include:
Granting privileges to tables and managing user accounts.
Transferring data between systems.
Writing and maintaining scripts (shell, database, etc.).
Develop software applications using Java and Python.
Connect, read from, and write to PostgreSQL databases.
Required Education and Experience:

5 years of direct/related experience.
2-3 years must be within the last 5 years in application development.
Required Skills:

Experience developing software applications using VB.NET or C# and .NET.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
Development experience with both Windows and Internet applications.
Experience with MS TFS (Team Foundation Server) IDE.
Use TFS for software source control, and manage Stories, Tasks, and Bugs.
Familiarity with MVC, Entity Framework (EF), and BootStrap.
Working knowledge of data formats such as XML and JSON.
Experience in developing APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).
Required Clearance:

Must have SECRET clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
DCID 6/4 eligibility must be met within 5.5 years of application.
Must be willing to submit to a CI polygraph.
Required Certifications:

Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification (e.g., Security +).
Active (or ability to obtain) DoD 8570.01-M IASAE-II certification (e.g., CASP CE, CISSP, CSSLP, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile development methodology.
Experience in developing unit tests and test plans.
Experience with platform-agnostic applications.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle).
Strong experience optimizing SQL stored procedures and functions.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, VBScript, or Perl.
Familiarity with software version control systems.
Strong technical writing skills (requirements, design documents, deployment).
Experience developing .NET WinForms and graphical UIs.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical requirements:
Ability to sit/stand for extended periods.
May require typing and reading from a computer screen.
Some physical activity (bending, reaching, kneeling).
Moderate to long-distance walking may be required.
Flexibility to work on either a rotational or permanent shift basis.
Work Environment:

Located at Eglin AFB, FL in an office setting with sedentary physical effort.
May involve lifting weights up to 30 pounds.
No unusual hazards or environmental conditions at the job site.
Compliance with DoD and USAF COVID-19 mitigation measures required.
Ability to operate office equipment (e.g., personal computer, printer, fax, etc.).
Attendance Requirements:

18 hours/day coverage is provided during the standard Monday-Friday work week.
Regular attendance and punctuality are critical to meet deadlines and project needs.
Flexibility in work hours is necessary to accommodate surge situations based on mission requirements.
