Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide operational support for VMware VCF, vSphere, and Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Perform provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability.
• Lead efforts to improve the performance and stability of the VMware environment.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure issues promptly.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain VMware Horizon VDI to meet end-user computing requirements.
• Develop test plans and deployment guidebooks within the first 90 days for best practices.
• Oversee operations and lifecycle management of ARIA components for monitoring and analytics.
• Work under the infrastructure team pillar, sharing knowledge and aligning strategies to enhance consistency in virtualization approaches.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including troubleshooting procedures, configuration records, and playbooks in Atlassian Confluence.
• Achieve and maintain operational stability with 99.99% uptime.
• Implement and document best practices for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and Horizon VDI.
• Provide regular project updates and progress reports to infrastructure/project managers.
• Ensure compliance with patching, STIGing, and regulatory standards.
Education, Certification & Experience Requirements
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent professional experience
• Must possess Active Secret
• 4+ year’s experience
PREFERED CERTIFICATION (only one required):
• VMware Cloud Foundations (VCF) or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
• Proficiency in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere.
• Extensive experience with VMware Horizon VDI deployment and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center virtualization and hybrid cloud operations.
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex infrastructure problems.
• Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands
• Basic office work environment at government facility location
• Hours of operation are M-F between 0800-1600.
• Duration of 6 months with a possibility to extend.
• Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days
• Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer
