GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to help support our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next Gen (JSP ETM - NG) in Arlington, VA.

This is a night shift role for Monday-Thursday 8:00pm-6:00am. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.

How you'll make an impact:
- Designs, plans and builds communications networks.
- Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
- Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
- Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
- Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
- Plans implementation of enhancements.
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
- Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
- Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
- Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
- Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
What you'll need to succeed (Required):
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret security clearance required.
- IAT Level II certification required.
- In addition to IAT II certification candidate must possess one of the following networking certifications: CCNA or CCNP, Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional - Aruba, Brocade Certified Network Engineer 2012 - Brocade, Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) - Juniper Networks, JNCIA-Junos: Associate Junos - Juniper Networks, Juniper Networks Certified Specialist E Series (JNCIS-E) - Juniper Networks.
- Must have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems
- Must be willing and able to support night shift schedule.

- Aruba Certification (ACSA and/or ACSP, depending on role).
