We are currently seeking to hire an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Deckhand at Naval Station Norfolk (VA) to support a dynamic U.S. Navy Directorate specializing in design, research, development, testing, and evaluation of experimental watercraft for its DoD clients. SA-TECH is ensuring performance and fleet readiness by providing full-spectrum O&M support of specialized combatant craft, patrol boats, Special Operations Forces platforms and coastal craft.

When not administering to emergency medical issues, typical duties include (but may not be limited to):
- Perform as line handler and ship's crew.
- Perform duties onboard involving basic seamanship.
- Assist in preparation, preservation, and cleanliness of naval watercraft and associated heavy equipment, vehicles, as well as hangar bays.
- Assist in basic facility maintenance support.
- Assists in facility security and visitor control.
- Other assignments within contract scope, as needed.
- Work will be performed in enclosed buildings, hangar bays, warehouses and immediate facility grounds and will include sitting, standing, walking, light lifting and reaching.
- Work will also take place on the water onboard small vessels (20ft - 90ft).
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Active EMT/Paramedic certifications.
- Previous experience performing basic seamanship duties or military service preferred.
- Familiarity with small boat operation, line handling, and launching/recovering from trailers preferred.
- Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation and may be required to pass a physical.
