We are seeking a passionate Senior UI Lead to support our Space customer. The Senior UI Lead will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of user interfaces for mission-critical systems within the Space Portfolio. This role is instrumental in delivering intuitive, responsive, and visually compelling interfaces that align with user needs and program objectives. The Senior UI Lead works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end designs with back-end systems, maintaining consistency and functionality across platforms.

Proposed Pay Scale: $160,200-$185,800

What you will do:
- Design and deliver user interface solutions that are visually engaging, functional, and aligned with user requirements.
- Develop interactive prototypes and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard tools.
- Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and developers to implement user interface designs within technical constraints.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of design systems, component libraries, and style guides to ensure consistency across all products.
- Optimize interfaces for a variety of devices and platforms, ensuring responsive design principles are applied.
- Integrate user feedback and usability findings into iterative interface design improvements.
- Stay updated on emerging UI trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance the program's user interfaces.
- Mentor and guide junior UI designers and front-end developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Present interface designs and concepts to stakeholders, customers, and leadership for review and approval.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices in all interface designs.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI eligibility is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, computer science, HCI, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of frontend development experience
- Proficiency in UI design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript/React and how they impact UI design.
- Experience designing interfaces for complex systems, preferably in defense or aerospace environments.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and usability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey design decisions and strategies.
- Travel: 10%
Desired Skills:
- Certification in UI Design or related fields (e.g., NN/g, IDEO).
- Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with tools for front-end development collaboration, such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of AR/VR or other emerging technologies to enhance UI designs.
- Understanding of internationalization and localization considerations in UI design.
