Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.
About The Role
Peraton requires Linux Systems Administrator to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. Position is located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB Florida.
Linux Systems Administrator perform tier two systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD.
In addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government's software and hardware, Systems Administrators need advanced analytical, troubleshooting and design skills. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users also is essential. Systems Administrators must be familiar with the systems engineering process and data as a fundamental building block for performance improvement. Participation in working groups, design reviews and system tests are required. This position will help generate assessments, as well as develop and implement actionable recommendations based on reviews. Systems Administrators require extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance. This is in support of the SIEM mission for U.S. Special Operations.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades/patches
- Configuring, STIG'ing, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system and VMs
- Performing system backups and recovery as needed
- Conducting server builds
- Provide Systems Administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Min 12 years with HS degree, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD
- DoD TS/SCI Clearance required
- DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant Certification
- 5+ years of experience with IT systems and network administration
- 3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS
- 3+ years of experience with network engineering
- Experience with managing virtual machines, software defined switching, and policy creation using VMware ESXi or vCenter
- Ability to use admin and RDS tools, including ACAS, Security Center, and Splunk
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
- Experience with AWS and Azure
