Tyto Athene is searching for a System Administrator at Fort Johnson. This role will be a critical part of a cohesive helpdesk, providing network and systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration for the RCS portion of the IS-U Network and components. This position will provide Tier 1 level support to users by isolating, troubleshooting, and debugging complex customer product issues. Applicants should be confident and comfortable when assisting users. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are demanded as well as the ability to exhibit a high level of comfort while interfacing directly with technical and non-technical customers.
This position does require "shift work" during Army Training Rotation Periods. Although shifts are typically 8-hour, shift assignments will vary and are managed by the on-site Help Desk Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Respond to support requests from customers and prospects via telephone, email, and Helpdesk support tickets. Responsibilities include logging, tracking, and closing incoming support requests.
* Collaborate extensively with peers and management to resolve client issues while actively contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves the effectiveness of our team and the information available to our clients.
* Be able to work independently and maintain excellent customer service skills.
* Attend and act on all training required, to include, but not limited to, IA, security awareness, all policies, and procedures, both security and non-security related.
* Ensure overall client satisfaction and all technical needs are delivered.
* Administer and manage ticketing system for all technical related issues.
* Must be able to handle end to end troubleshooting issues with all aspects of the Information Systems.
* Familiar with IA/RMF procedures.
* Research and provide solutions for issues related to software and hardware errors.
* Collaborate extensively with peers and management to resolve client issues while actively contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves the effectiveness of our team and the information available to our clients.
* Prioritize numerous issues of varying severity, and effectively manage the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels. This includes ownership of the data entered in the Helpdesk system and appropriately updating both client and appropriate employees of status of all issues on a timely basis.
* Maintain proper documentation relative to Technical best practices, guidelines for standard procedures, checklists, etc.
* Familiarization with Active Directory account creation and management.
* Be able to review and verify group policies are applied.
* Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Broad and extensive working (hands on) knowledge of computers and IT industry, preferably some within the federal or military industries.
* Demonstrate competency with Microsoft Windows Server, Linux servers, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare, storage platforms (HP preferred), backup systems, Skype for Business, and Office 365.
* Candidates must be able to work on-site, Fort Johnson, LA, covering the entire area of responsibility.
Required:
* 2+ years supporting design, integration, installation, testing and sustainment of complex networks.
* Meet IAT II Certification Baseline (e.g. CompTIA Security+) requirements upon acceptance of the position.
* Must show Computing Environment (CE) Certification within the first six months.
* Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology.
* Physical ability to lift and install hardware system components, computers, monitors, printers, and plotters.
* 2+ years of System Admin and maintenance work.
* 2+ years of related experience in an IT Service Management capacity.

Compensation:
• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $65K-$75K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
