The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of government facilities by performing critical security functions, including serving as an Alarm and GSA Security Container Custodian.
Important Note: This position is contingent upon the successful award of a new contract currently being pursued by Galapagos Federal Systems LLC.
Skills / Experience Required
Alarm Custodian Duties:
* Oversee and manage alarm systems within government facilities, ensuring proper operation and security protocol compliance.
* Manage the Troubleshooting, maintaining, and updating of alarm systems as needed, in accordance with government regulations.
* Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure timely response to alarm incidents.
GSA Security Container Custodian Duties:
* Manage and maintain GSA-approved security containers, ensuring proper storage, handling, and safeguarding of classified or sensitive materials.
* Adhere to regulations outlined in 18 CFR 3a.61 regarding the operation of security containers.
* Monitor and report on the integrity and compliance of security containers across the facility.
Administrative and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records related to security systems and containers, providing timely reports as required by government authorities.
* Assist in preparing security-related documentation and assist in audits.
* Work closely with other team members and departments to support overall facility security initiatives.
* Participate in security assessments and provide recommendations for improvements.
* Ensure all security practices align with government security protocols and policies.
* Stay informed about any changes to regulations or security requirements relevant to the position.
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years working in a security assistant role or related field
* Proven experience performing Alarm Custodian duties, preferably in a government facility.
* Demonstrated knowledge of GSA Security Container Custodian responsibilities, especially as outlined in 18 CFR 3a.61.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with teams and reporting security incidents.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures with a high level of accuracy.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
* Proficient in using security-related systems and software.
* Ability to manage sensitive and classified information with discretion and confidentiality.
* Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
* Must be willing and able to work within U.S. Government facilities
* Existing or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
Education / Certifications
* High School Diploma Required
* Bachelor's degree preferred, especially in a relevant field

Security Clearance

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
