BACKGROUND:
Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Network & Telecommunications Services (NTS), Network Operations Division, located enterprise wide at multiple DLA locations. This requirement is intended to support LAN functions by providing skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies to the Local Area Network (LAN). DLA seeks an enterprise approach to providing the core network engineering services needed to manage the regular lifecycle maintenance, ongoing operations, expanding mission requirements around the globe, planned upgrades, new technology insertion, and strategic capability development of DLA LAN systems and equipment with the goal of providing a secure, reliable, and high performance network. Mission areas include the sustainment and evolution of an overarching DLA enterprise LAN architecture, determination of proposed solutions, delivery of desired solutions (including oversight of related field activities, and sustainment of those solutions that are initially developed and delivered under a program manager), assurance that the solutions meet customer needs, and the effective integration of DLA’s IT solutions with other existing or planned logistics IT solutions in DOD. This requires the ability to deploy to any DLA site in support of installation or troubleshooting activities. The Contractor will be required to work with internal DLA organizations, as well as external organizations to support the duties of these organizations in order to achieve DLA's stated objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of network monitoring solutions to include the design, planning and execution of those solutions to new and existing systems.
As the Network Monitor you will install, configure, and customize Network Monitoring tools for monitoring, configuration management, and alerting for all nodes on the DLA’s networks.
Provide server-side support for network monitoring tools to include patching, troubleshooting, and general maintenance Use network monitoring tools to proactively alert and address potential issues and assist in the troubleshooting process; be called upon to analyze and interpret traffic and utilization of services on network connections; and provide DLA Leadership and IT groups with reports and utilities to monitor their desired network objects.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a US Citizen with Active TOP SECRET clearance
2 year experience
IAM level I Certification (CAP, Sec+ CE, GISF, GSLC)
CE: NET+ other relevant Telecommunication certifications
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience configuring / troubleshooting SNMPv3 network management tools (SolarWinds NPM and NCM are preferred).
Networking experience, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
Experience administering and leveraging network monitoring tools for system alerts and performance.
Ability to analyze and interpret traffic and utilization of services on network connections.
Provide IT groups with the best reports and utilities to monitor their network objects.
