Chitra is seeking a Missile Defense SME to support a Joint Staff J5 StS contract position at the Pentagon, Washington, DC.
Position Requirements:
Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
Travel is required
Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Shall have at least five (5) years of operational background in Missile Defense
Experience of no less than one (1) year working on or directly supporting the Joint Staff, Combatant Command, or military service headquarters
Must have knowledge of Joint MD force structure and strategic laydown and must possess comprehensive knowledge of Joint MD operations core, supporting, and related capabilities
Must be able to produce timely and thoughtful MD policy solutions and recommendations, based on U.S. National and Military Strategies, to senior Department of Defense leadership
Must be knowledgeable of Department of Defense personnel, education, and training processes
Experience shall demonstrate work with modern office, collaboration, and information management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Connect, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Video Teleconference Equipment)
Must be able to become knowledgeable of the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) and complete the Joint Staff training course
Position Responsibilities:
Support to the Joint Staff J5: Assist the Joint Staff J5 StS in the execution of its responsibilities for the CJCS as the lead integrator for strategy, plans, and posture. This includes the research for and preparation of briefing materials, talking points, and supporting documentation associated with joint strategy, planning, and posture. Such research shall consist of identifying, reviewing, and analyzing current and historic policy documents, formulating policy recommendations, and maintaining records of work product development. Support shall include utilizing SME to provide assistance to Joint Staff J5 StS uniform personnel with interaction with senior level United States Government officials and international partners at meetings and boards as assigned by the Joint Staff J5 StS. The contractor shall also assist in the management of Joint Staff Action Process (JSAP) and Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) administration for division-led projects inside and out of the Joint Staff. The products will be produced on an as required basis depending on the development and requirements of operational needs. Regular products include recommended periodic updates to Joint Publications, daily and weekly activity reports within J5, and short notice support to senior Joint Staff leadership.
Joint Missile Defense Strategy, Plans, and Policy Development: Develop recommended strategy, plans, and policy guidance to the Joint Staff and the Combatant Commands, based on historical reports, current strategy, plans, policy, and proposed future capabilities. The contractor shall provide policy and strategy support that includes all aspects of StS and MD.
Operational Support: Provide MD SME to Joint Staff J5 StS to support the CJCS. The MD SME will provide recommendations on development, coordination, and integration of Joint Force capabilities into strategy, plans, and policy in accordance with doctrine to ensure Combatant Commands achieve desired effects in the operational environment. MD SME support shall include representation and interaction at meetings and boards as assigned by Joint Staff J5 StS in the local DC area, Inside the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required.
Position is an on-site at the Pentagon, Washington, DC.
