Systems Engineer - Analysis
Location: Boulder, CO

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a motivated Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. The position is located in Boulder, CO - Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.
REQUIREMENTS
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.
1. New feature implementation that allows for smooth integration with pre-existing systems
2. Software development using Agile Methodology
3. Utilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancements
4. Software engineering support for multi-language (C/C++, Python, and Java) and complex software systems
5. Enhance usability, performance, and maintainability of systems via analysis and bug fixes
6. Coordinate, integrate, and resolve defects in conjunction with the test team
QUALIFICATIONS
1. This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer or a Principal Systems Engineer level
2. Linux experience
3. C/C++ and Python proficiency
4. Object Oriented Programing (OOP) experience
5. Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
6. Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD.
DESIRED SKILLS
7. OO design pattern and modern data structure experience
8. Configuration management software experience (i.e. Git, Conan, CMake, Nexus, etc.)
9. Software development and troubleshooting in a team environment
10. Legacy software and modernization effort experience
11. Java and shell scripting language experience
12. Agile development experience
13. Atlassian Tool Suite experience
14. Technical leadership experience
15. Full software development lifecycle experience
16. Experience in performance analysis, requirements verification, simulation, validation, and algorithms
17. Strong Python skills
18. Strong statistical background and skills
19. Experience with missile trajectory analysis
20. Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System
21. Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared
