The Airborne Systems Business Area (ASBA) within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector has an opening for a Vice President, Sensors and Advanced Technology (SAT) Division. Work location for this position will be Huntsville AL or Dayton OH, but will also require travel to a secondary work location of Manassas, VA.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Airborne Systems Business Area (ASBA) SVP, the Sensors and Advanced Technology (SAT) Division Manager will provide overall leadership for one of three ASBA divisions. The SAT Division manager will have full P&L responsibilities for the division which will include programs and technologies in the areas of autonomy, artificial Intelligence, UAS, ISR, PODs, open systems architectures and advanced software solutions.
The SAT Division Manager will oversee, develop and drive growth of a portfolio of programs in the development, production, and deployment of commercial and advanced sensors, data processing, and autonomy to meet our customers important missions. A key aspect of this position will be full collaboration across ASBA, the Defense Systems Sector and the Corporation as a whole.

Pay Range: Pay Range $216,800.00 - $348,750.00

Primary Responsibilities:
- Solely responsible for P&L and growth for a portfolio of programs.
- Scope of responsibility includes leadership with a commitment to building a high-performance team which includes direct reports and successfully collaborating in both a functional and larger corporate matrix organization.
- Develop and execute division specific strategy that is in alignment with the ASBA, Sector and overall corporate strategy.
- Collaboration with CTO and BD office on IR&D and B&P investments and priorities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and 15+ years of experience; or a Master’s degree and 13+ years of related experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of team leadership experience, working with a distributed organization, over multiple time zones, and a demonstrated record of leading and managing an organization or commercial company.
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience managing one or more program(s) of high complexity greater than $100M.
- Demonstrated ability to transition advanced technologies into programs of record.
- Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
- Established/proven working relationships across the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Airborne communities - to include an understanding of competitors’ capabilities, key players and decision makers and likely strategies within that market.
- Steeped in product line development, production, and sustainment support experience in avionics, open systems architectures and multiple aircraft systems.
- Experience leading medium to large scale teams in execution of a product line and services portfolio of program.
- Strong customer interaction skills with government contracts, specifically within the DOD market space.
- Previous experience in Strategy and Business Development.
- Demonstrated collaboration with other internal corporate business areas and external partnerships to bring a best-in-class solutions.
- Experience in identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements and working with other team members to develop a total integrated business solution. In depth experience with the operational requirements of customer base.
- Experience with new organization construction standup and scaling to meet growth needs.
- Business case development and reporting to sector and corporate leadership in alignment with strategy and to develop buy in.
- The candidate must have direct experience working in a classified environment.
Successful candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated and consistent success in achieving or exceeding financial goals, revenue and profit growth, and market expansion with the communicative ability to engage new customers and present technical solutions to complex problems.
- Program management skills, experience supporting a variety of customers, and managing a diverse technical team.
- Ability to manage multiple complex demands concurrently.
- Interdisciplinary leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and mentoring senior level staff in a successful organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of the methodology necessary to target and capture future work, along with demonstrated results.
- Ability to gain internal consensus support; operate independently without supervision or feedback; conceive new and innovative ideas and solutions; predicting potential outcomes and determine which alternative course of action to follow.
- Ability to establish professional, constructive relationships with technical and functional staff, managers, and peers within the Operation, Group, and across Leidos organizations.
- Experience in identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements and working with other team members to develop a total integrated business solution. In depth experience with the operational requirements of customer base.
- Experience in leveraging IRAD to develop technology discriminators.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential and should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A technical bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Managing a software based or advanced technology organization including that required a deep understanding of and background in Airborne ISR, Aviation.
- Proven success transitioning airborne technology programs to operational use.
- Experience in mergers and acquisition process—target identification, evaluation, closure and integration.
- Extensive experience working within an SAP environment.
