Basic Requirements:
GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-05 or equivalent within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Basic Requirements to be converted to a permanent position (GS-07 or higher) in the Data Science Series 1560:Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Application of Veterans Preference: The Category Rating Method does not add veterans' preference points or apply the "rule of three," but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each category. Additional information
- Selections are subject to restrictions resulting from the DoD Program for Stability of Civilian Employment.
