About this position:
We are looking to hire a technical, self-motivated Software Developer to join our team to support an essential modernization program for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid. As a member of our A gile development team, you will support several complex and high-volume customer systems. The ideal candidate would have e xperience developing in Java and building Representation State Transfer ( REST ) Application Programming Interface ( API ) solutions.
Salary Range: 145k - 165K - commensurat e with an individual's experience, skills, and location

On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Develop maintainable, scalable, defect-free code following best practices and coding standards, including software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, and test-driven development.
- Actively participate in daily scrum meetings, report progress, and address impediments.
- Join Program Quarterly Incrementation Planning sessions to set development goals.
- Execute automated tests, analyze results, and support various testing stages.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with existing or the ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation .
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
- 7+ years of related experience in software development with 3+ years in a lead development role
- E xperience developing API Microservices .
- Knowledge of REST API, JSON.
- Experience using API test cases in SOAP UI, PostMan , or ReadyAPI .
- Experience implementing and maintaining Spring Boot applications.
- Experience with git/GitLab DevOps/CI/CD platform.
- Experience with SQL and PGAdmin .
- Experience with common web development frameworks (Angular, Docker, React, Spring, Node.js, jQuery, Microservice Design, etc.)
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using and creating API test cases in PostMan , or ReadyAPI .
- Knowledge of Angular 2+ applications and common web development frameworks (Angular, Docker, React, Spring, Node.js, jQuery, Microservice Design, etc )
- Experience with an IDE such as IntelliJ.
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or Agile/Iterative software development methodology
- Interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
- Critical thinking, problem solving skills, written, and oral communication skills.
- Personal accountability, organized, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative.
