Job Description
What would it be like to work for a defense contractor supporting the US Navy in defending the United States of America from foreign threats? Come join our team here at Wallops Island, Virginia. Yes, your onsite work will be done on an island next to the Atlantic Ocean. Here we support the US Navy in its vital mission of integrating currently deployed and future combat weapons systems. We are on the cutting edge of technology to position the US Navy for the ever-changing environment around the globe. The specific tasks are involved with performance of a variety of welding jobs, fabrication of various components and subassemblies using different types of welding processes and filler metals. Ensures welding joint is properly fit, filler metal is proper type and condition, and weld is in proper sequence to meet specifications and manufacturing or engineering requirements. Additionally, will play a critical role in the installation/removal of various combat systems and ancillary components, military standard equipment or commercial equivalent server equipment and hardware, and all types of cables which support lab operations.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Security clearance requirement: This position requires successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
