You will collaborate with engineers, acquisition specialists, and operational users to assess system performance, identify risks, and provide data-driven recommendations to decision-makers.
Responsibilities:
T&E Planning and Execution:
- Analyze system requirements, acquisition plans, and operational concepts to develop robust T&E strategies, master plans, and event test plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of operational and system performance requirements to define testability and prioritize T&E objectives.
- Design and execute test procedures, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring alignment with program milestones and decision points.
- Develop and implement data collection plans, utilizing appropriate methodologies, instrumentation, and tools.
- Participate in T&E working groups and integrated product teams to coordinate evaluation and testing activities.
Performance Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth performance analysis, applying statistical methods and modeling & simulation techniques to evaluate system effectiveness and suitability.
- Identify and analyze performance risk areas, developing mitigation strategies and providing recommendations to stakeholders.
- Utilize specialized T&E capabilities tailored to system functions, maturity level, and performance area.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive T&E documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and briefings.
- Contribute to the development of key government T&E deliverables, such as Test & Evaluation Strategies, Master Plans, and Readiness Assessments.
- Effectively communicate T&E findings, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior T&E team members.
- Coordinate and integrate evaluation and testing tasks, ensuring quality assurance of processes and products.
- Foster strong working relationships with government sponsors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and manage T&E risks, developing alternative courses of action and workarounds to mitigate potential issues.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Test Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Four (4) years of additional T&E experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of government test and evaluation concepts and processes.
- Expertise in performance analysis, statistical methods, and modeling & simulation techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information to diverse audiences.
