Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Computer Support Specialist III position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This position's main responsibility is to supply touch labor on-site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. The Computer Support Specialist conducts site surveys, assesses and documents current site configuration and user requirements, analyzes existing requirements and prepares specifications for hardware acquisitions. Engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages will be prepared and develop hardware/software installation schedules. Skills / Experience Required
* Hold a current Active Secret clearance
* 5+ years of experience for the level III position
* Required to perform 24 X 7 shift work in support of operational IT related mission/after duty hours on call/emergency requirement
* Deploy government-provided interoperable and integrated standard common-user office automation desktop software as approved for use by the AGM program
* Provide on-site desktop, software, and peripheral support for Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) customers
* Priority support (per C4IM service catalog) for command staff, unit control center, and directors
* Report significant outages and/or customer issues to management personnel
* Resolve desktop problems via remote control with the add/delete of accounts and reset passwords as needed
* Asist with IAVA remediation
* Install, configure, troubleshoot, relocate, and repair desktops, Personal Digital Assistant devices, and printers
* Identify network problems impacting users and work with appropriate Tier II or III administrators to quickly restore optimum service
* Troubleshoot wi-fi and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) provided broadband devices and VPN connectivity
* Utilize network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds to monitor and proactively respond or alert support personnel
* Submit daily systems reports and contact the next level of support to escalate unresolved problems
* Answer Help Desk calls and use automated incident tracking systems to record work orders. Supply technical customer support
* Configure, diagnose, reimage, reload, use troubleshoot and repair all MS Windows based laptops and desktops loaded with Windows 7 and Windows 10 OS and all associated peripheral devices
* Configure, diagnose, reload, use troubleshoot and repair all MS Windows Office 2013 applications with a good understanding of Outlook and related components
* Configure, diagnose, reload, use troubleshoot and repair all NCES products
* Configure, diagnose, reload, use troubleshoot and repair all Jabber instant messaging applications
* Utilize AD tools to manage and create objects in MS Server 2003-2008
* Utilize remote tools to connect to remote desktops with application to include SCCM
* Aid users during briefings and events with all collaborative tools such as Defense Collaboration Services, Jabber, Portals, and alert systems
* Configure, diagnose, reload, use troubleshoot and repair all MS Windows Office applications with a good understanding of Outlook and related components
* In-depth knowledge of the most recent version of Microsoft Operating System, Microsoft Office applications and other common desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Tumbleweed
* Ability to quickly learn unique GOTS applications
* Excellent customer service skills
* Project a positive image and professional manner always; ability to work within the confines of a set time schedule
* Knowledge and experience communicating desktop support concepts to technical and non-technical personnel
* Ability to develop technical documents and produce system design documentation
Education / Certifications
* High School/GED
* 5+ years of experience for the level III position
* Possess/maintain an IT-II level certification, IAT-II/IAM-II (Security +)
* Possess/maintain Computing Environment (CE) certifications
* CompTIA Security+ baseline - preferred
* Microsoft 365 Certified - preferred
