Job Description:
* Educational Requirement:
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience (fewer years considered with an advanced degree).
* Core Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for military electro-optical products.
* Provide support from concept to production delivery, including design, debug, test, and qualification.
* Develop engineering design fixes and coordinate solutions.
* Support circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and builds.
* Review and develop hardware and software requirement documents and test plans.
* Maintain strong record-keeping skills to track design changes, debug status, hardware, and software revisions.
* Skills and Experience:
* Experience with engineering development and test tools.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
* Strong multitasking skills.
* Ability to travel to supplier and government sites.
* Desired Knowledge Areas:
* IPC and MIL standards.
* Digital and analog circuit design.
* Power, thermal analysis, timing, biasing, voltage and current control, LED control, data packet deciphering, etc.
* Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.
* Engineering design, development, and analysis software:
* Desired: MATLAB, MATHCAD, Mentor Graphics Schematic Capture, CAMView, or CAM350.
* Microprocessor-based products: processors, chipsets, memory and bus interfaces, networking standards (PCI-xpress, DDR2, DDR3, USB, SATA, DVI, etc.).
* Microcontrollers: IDEs, configuration, coding, and programming.
