Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a qualified Network/Systems Engineer for a potential opportunity with the Department of State (DOS). The Network/Stems Engineer will oversee all activities conducted under the contract, acting as the SME and Task Leader for O&M Network Support, while supporting all NIS staff involved in that task area.
They will work directly with the PM and support the transition-in and transition-out phases. They are expected to be available during standard business hours.
Candidates must have a minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in managing programs and projects, along with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent time-management and problem-solving abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop - Foster and engineer software solutions from conception to deployment. Evaluate customer requirements and determine the feasibility of existing product reach, potential restrictions, and future development. Work independently while testing all software in a fluid environment, facilitating verification and quality assurance throughout.
- Coordinate and support-Maintain direct communication with the customer to understand needs throughout the software development lifecycle. Work with the engineering team to execute timely and cost-effective solutions. Provide ongoing support and maintenance to the customer as needed. Perform systems management and integration functions.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) during the life of this contract.
- 10 years plus of relevant industry experience.
- with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with the following technologies, tools, and platforms:
- Language(s): C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, XML
- Framework(s): ASP.NET, .Net 4, WCF, Entity, Design Patterns, ERD
- Front-end Development: ASP.NET, Bootstrap, AngularJS, MVC, AJAX, Web Services, Kendo
- Database(s): Oracle 11g, PL/SQL, SQLPlus, Toad, SQL Server
- Platform/Tools: Visual Studio, TFS, IIS, Windows Server, HTTPS, CLM, GitLab, Selenium, Jenkins
- Experience with build scripts and continuous integration, using any of the following:
- Gitlab, CLM, Jira, Nexus, Docker, Puppet, Jenkins, Gitlab-ci, Beaker, OATS/Selenium, Confluence, Maven, SonarQube, Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- Most recent position(s) were software architect level or equivalent
- Good understanding of Networking and Application Security
- Strong Agile, SDLC, and development process experience
- Two years of Consular Affairs experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of all engineering tools and applications and programming languages
