Software Developer
Clearance: TS SCI FSP
Location: Chantilly, VA
Position Overview:
The Software Developer will support the Sponsor’s office by delivering project management and technical expertise to manage projects and perform software development activities within budget and schedule. The role involves providing correlation services that allow enterprise systems to efficiently search large-scale data repositories for critical information related to persons and organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Engineering:
• Adhere to the Sponsor’s Lean Agile methodology and actively participate in scrums, sprints, and grooming sessions.
• Manage progress of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) product integration and development efforts to ensure timely task completion.
• Coordinate with integrated teams, including staff and contractors, for problem resolution, task scheduling, and new resource requirements.
• Understand and work within the Sponsor’s target environments, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with security, operations, testing, and other teams to provide system information and technical support.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems, ensuring high-quality deliverables through unit testing and code reviews.
• Utilize Jira to manage and update project tickets effectively.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience working in an Agile development environment.
2. Ability to develop detailed designs and deliverables, translating customer and system requirements into actionable designs.
3. Expertise in designing interfaces or processes using Python.
4. Experience designing and developing services using AWS offerings such as Lambda and SQS.
5. Hands-on experience with application development using React, Spring Boot, Spark, and Java.
6. Proficiency in developing web services using Java 8+ and JavaScript.
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS/Azure, including automated infrastructure setup.
8. Understanding of data collection and storage tools, such as Databricks and AWS S3.
9. Familiarity with correlation algorithms from Novetta Entity Analytics.
10. Experience using DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Nexus.
Desired Skills and Experience:
1. Recent experience with the Sponsor’s Lean Agile methodology.
2. Experience using the Sponsor's analytic tools to ingest, correlate, build, and distribute products to other applications.
3. Familiarity with the Sponsor’s correlation services.
