University, Systems Engineer Intern
Key Role:
Assist in the design, testing, and development of next-generation US government and defense microelectronics te chn ologies, focusing on semic ond uctor portal platforms for failure analysis and mitigation. Leverage knowledge of current and future defense system needs to integrate advanced microelectronics solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance client systems, improving performance and functionality for defense applications. Support the analysis and interpretation of data to inform design improvements and work with packaging engineers on next-gen semic ond uctor packaging te chn iques. Evaluate advanced packaging materials and methods to enhance durability and performance for defense systems. Contribute to the development and simulation of RF and optoelectronic microelectronic systems to optimize signal integrity, power efficiency, and performance for defense missions. Participate in designing and testing RF circuits and optoelectronic devices, including photodetectors and modulators. C ond uct simulations and analyze experimental data to predict and validate system performance. Identify promising industry partners and te chn ologies, collaborating to define te chn ical and business strategies for e nga gement. Support the development of modernization tech roadmaps for microelectronics, coordinating with DoD leaders, Services, Agencies, and key partners. Maintain and refine S & T roadmaps based on feedback from stakeholders and changes to te chn ology investments. Assist in testing new designs, identifying issues, and proposing solutions. Collaborate with engineers to meet project milestones, document findings, and present results clearly. Ensure all work complies with internal standards and DoD requirements and assist in compiling progress reports for government clients and stakeholders.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,700.00 to $106,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with microelectronic systems engineering and te chn ology development programs
- Experience in the microelectronics and semic ond uctor industry
- Knowledge of integrated circuit design, verification, fabrication, or packaging
- Knowledge of basic testing and data analysis methods, including interpreting and presenting te chn ical data
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Materials Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering by Spring 2026
