Program Overview
About The Role
System Management Branch. Part of DoDIN-A operations focus on multiple dispersed, independent/intra-dependent systems performing multiple functions (Operating System (OS), Hardware (HW), database, software applications, etc.) that are interoperable with other elements or systems to perform a function as part of a larger, more complex system. The GCC operates, monitors, sustains, and secures Enterprise directed systems throughout the GCC AOR and internal services.
• Operating System Administration. The GCC operates, maintains, secures, and sustains OSs supporting numerous local and Enterprise services. Performs the underlying operating systems, desktop, and help desk support functions:
• Server Administration: Operate, maintain, secure, and update all GCC server-based systems to ensure integrity and security. Configure, patch, and scan systems to maintain high availability of services. Respond to incident tickets, service requests, restoration of service, and requests for change. Maintain the underlying operation systems in support of internal and Enterprise applications and maintain documentation depicting server/system characteristics, physical/logical capability diagrams and security policies and settings. Notify the Government of any "critical" or "high" incidents that impact critical systems and services.
• Desktop Support: Employ, operate, secure, maintain, update, troubleshoot, repair, and recommend changes for internal desktop support consisting of both physical and virtual desktop infrastructure. Provide all internal services necessary for a secure, robust, standardized, and sustainable network using best business practices, including Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), 802.1x, print, authentication, and policy services. Provide helpdesk support to facilitate immediate notification and resolution to end user workstations support. Perform availability and performance monitoring, trend analysis on quality of desktop services, Tier 1 and 2 help desk support for GCC personnel (local and remote) and maintain a self-help portal to provide Frequently Asked Questions and General User guides to the workforce.

Target Salary Range: $39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years no degree
- Ability to perform shift work
- Certifications: DCWF Code 411 Basic: CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+
- Possess and maintain a Top Secret w/SCI security clearance
- General experience includes background in information systems development, network operations, application performance in a client/server environment, or related fields.
- Specialized experience includes the management of helpdesks in a multi-user environment, a comprehensive understanding of PC operating systems, an in-depth knowledge of network and electronic mail operations, and prior supervision of help desk
- Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing, as well as have a positive customer service attitude
