Job Description
The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for an Information Assurance Systems Engineer supporting the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at DISA. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of DISA’s operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA’s mission partners. Candidate must be able to be at the customer site at Fort Meade daily. Minimum Secret clearance and Security + are required upon start. Primary Responsibilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
• Interact with members of the technical team to understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications.
• Responsible for understanding entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
• Support risk assessment, risk management, security control assessment, continuous monitoring, service design, and other IA program support functions.
• Support and assist in documentation production using various software tools and applying consistent formatting and style throughout documentation.
• Participate in the development, facilitation, and coordination of system documentation such as: System Engineering Plans; Initial Capabilities Documents; Requirements Specifications; and Interface Control Documentation; Assessment and authorization documentation (Body of Evidence) for management and continuous monitoring of information systems.
• Effectively communicates with the customer and internal team members across multiple areas.
• Assist with the implementation of security procedures, and verify information system security requirements, including coordinating the execution, review, and disposition of STIG checklists for systems, applications, developed code and other components.
• Review ACAS and container scans for each system and work with vendor and technical leads to bring findings into remediation; Document detailed Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) for all open findings.
• Supporting risk assessment, risk management, security control assessment, continuous monitoring, service design, and other IA program support functions.
• Employing SE approach for systems planning design, execution, and sustainment.

Basic Qualifications:
• Requires a US Citizenship.
• Hold and active security certification that meets DOD 8570 IAT level II or higher, such as Security+ upon start.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or master’s with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
• Experience in architecture, design, develop, and delivery of data driven operations capabilities, within a DoD environment.
• Systems engineering experience.
• Writing software systems engineering documents
• Development software interface documents (IDDs/ICDs)
• Experience working with a highly technical team and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with JIRA, Xray, Confluence and Git repo.
• Candidate to be able to work with strict deadlines with the ability to multi-task and self-assign work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well/collaborate with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
• NIST RMF Assessment and Authorization (A&A) experience.
• Experience with operating IT security tools, such as ACAS, HBSS, DISA STIGs
• Prior experience working Cybersecurity in accordance with US Government (USG), Department of Defense (DOD)
• Experience with the ServiceNow application.
Preferred Qualifications
• ServiceNow Platforms modules: Discovery, Event Management, Scripting, Service Mapping, Business Rules, Script Includes, Custom applications, Orchestration, Workflows, Service Catalog.
• Strong knowledge of server & network infrastructure and the related configuration items used by ServiceNow platform.
• Experience or familiarity with Agile development and testing methodology.
• Experience with DISA and DoD Networks.
• Experience with cloud-based AWS services.
• Experience with cloud-based - specifically AWS - enterprise implementations.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps, Configuration as Code, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD implementation.
• Understanding of network routing devices and network device configurations
• Understanding of ITIL foundation or ITIL certified
• AWS cloud certifications

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must hold an active Secret clearance and Sec+ certification. A plus is for any candidates that have a current CISSP or other IAM Level II Certification. This position will require frequent on-site work though there is flexibility with hybrid work.

Work Environment
This role will start out with 100% on-site expectations. Once the person proves they are up to speed on the job there will be remote work flexibility offered. This work is performed at Fort Meade in Maryland. It is a fast faced work environment.
