The Cloud Systems Engineer will Design, develop, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services. They will also ensure the smooth functioning of an organization's cloud infrastructure. The cloud systems engineer will work closely with other IT professionals, such as developers, architects, and system administrators, to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions. They will migrate applications, optimize resources, and ensure data security and compliance.
Responsibilities:
· Design and oversee cloud infrastructure.
· Assess legacy applications and systems to determine their suitability for migration to cloud services.
· Implement and manage cloud-based systems for business purposes and assist in debugging cloud stacks. Collaborate with engineering and development teams to identify optimal solutions.
· Develop tailored user-defined views (subsets of architectural data) for specific purposes. Work closely with engineering and cyber teams on cloud technology implementations and initiatives.
· Review and develop hybrid multi-cloud solution architectures. Possess knowledge of software development, scripting languages, and a background in designing web services in the cloud.
· Have in-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud Architecture & Integration, DevSecOps Automation & Optimization, Application & Database Designs, and the Software Development Lifecycle & Tools. Understand FEDRAMP requirements.
· Experienced in migrating core applications and systems to the cloud, with a detailed understanding of the DoD Cloud Provisional Authorization process.
· Have thorough knowledge of the DoD Cloud Computing FRD and SRG.
Qualifications:
· Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Experience:
o Senior: 10 years of experience.
· Clearance: Public trust eligible
· Cloud Expertise:
o Designing and deploying workloads on AWS
o Experience with SaaS cloud environments.
· Specialized Experience:
o At least six (6) years on high-visibility or mission-critical DoD projects (preferably Navy or Marine Corps programs).
o Proven ability to work independently on critical program aspects.
o Task management for junior staff.
