Background:
This position supports the discovery, implementation, and sustainment of a comprehensive ServiceNow solution for a dedicated Department of Defense (DoD) community with significant leadership visibility. The Platform Architect / Implementation Lead will be the technical authority responsible for architecting, designing, and overseeing the implementation of a multi-product ServiceNow solution, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD). The ideal candidate is a technical leader with deep expertise in ServiceNow, capable of guiding a cross-functional team to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that meet complex DoD requirements.
This position is based 4 days onsite/1 day remote.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical advisor and subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with DoD objectives, policies, and technical standards
- Develop and maintain a robust ServiceNow architecture that supports ITSM, ITOM, HAM, SAM, and HRSD modules while ensuring scalability, security, and performance
- Lead the technical design, development, and deployment of ServiceNow solutions, ensuring compliance with DoD requirements and industry best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs, including workflows, integrations, and configurations
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to a team of developers, business analysts, UI/UX designers, and quality assurance personnel
- Define and enforce development standards, including coding guidelines, configuration management, and documentation practices
- Oversee the integration of ServiceNow with other enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and efficient workflows
- Conduct system reviews, performance tuning, and optimization to maintain platform reliability and user satisfaction
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing technical guidance and ensuring sprint deliverables meet architecture and design standards
- Stay abreast of new ServiceNow features and capabilities, recommending platform enhancements to align with evolving DoD needs
- Provide mentorship and training to team members to build internal expertise and ensure knowledge transfer
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering). Advanced degree preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT architecture and development, with at least 5 years dedicated to ServiceNow implementations
- Proven track record of leading complex ServiceNow implementations, including ITSM, ITOM, HAM, SAM, and HRSD modules
- Experience in DoD or federal environments is highly desirable
- Certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications for multiple modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Technical Architect (CTA) strongly preferred
- ITIL certification required; Agile certification (e.g., PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster) is a plus
- Technical Proficiency:
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, including modules, integrations, and development frameworks
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Glide API) and integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs
- Familiarity with DoD security frameworks, including RMF, NIST 800-171, and CMMC compliance
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable ServiceNow solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of resolving complex technical challenges
- Clearance:
- Active Security clearance required; eligibility for higher-level clearance is a plus
