Cybersecurity Exercise Planner

As a Cybersecurity Exercise Planner at RedSky, you will bring your expertise to our DoD customer’s J6 Directorate Exercise team, work within the Future Operations and Plans (FUOPS) Branch and collaborate closely with the J5/7 to develop and synchronize J6 support for the exercise programs. You will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of cybersecurity exercises that meet the operational needs of the DoD customer.
To thrive, you should have:
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Minimum of 3 years as a Joint Exercise Planner and at least 2 years working within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), with expertise in designing and executing Combatant Command or Service-Component level exercises.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Advanced Service Planner Certifications (e.g., SAMS, SAASS, or JAWS) and applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 certifications are preferred.
• Experience with exercise planning at the Service Component or Combatant Command level, delivering briefings and training to senior military and civilian leaders, including U.S. and foreign stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project management processes, exercise coordination tools, and platforms like Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, OneBrief, and other Joint Training Program tools; SAMS graduate status is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% annually, often to OCONUS locations, to support USCENTCOM exercise requirements.
Responsibilities as the Cybersecurity Exercise Planner include:
• Create comprehensive exercise plans and directives by using operational art, operational design, and the Joint Planning Process (JPP) through the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
• Organize diverse groups to address complex challenges, ensure the implementation of new solutions and best practices, and align planning efforts with the evolving Cyberspace environment.
• Contribute to briefings, adapt plans based on feedback, address shortfalls, prioritize requirements, and coordinate joint operational planning and exercise execution.
• Review strategies, doctrine, and directives to ensure compliance and author critical exercise support products, including meeting notes, after-action reports, and exercise materials.
• Plan and oversee demonstrations, TTXs, ROC drills, seminars, and working group participation to align exercise objectives and ensure synchronization across stakeholders.
