We are looking for a Top Secret cleared Senior Database Administrator for a project supporting an intelligence customer. Day-to-day expectations are to work as part of the infrastructure team to ensure optimal operation of each of the databases across the AWS environment, to include performance tuning and supporting development teams in line with client requirements. Additionally, we are looking for an individual who is proactive and able to identify troubleshoot issues, proposing solutions in coordination with broader teams.
LOCATION/SCHEDULE: Fully onsite in Washington, D.C.
CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years+ of experience implementing, performance tuning, and supporting databases with experience in PostgreSQL.
- Experience performing general troubleshooting, database maintenance activities including backup and recovery, capacity planning, and managing user accounts.
- Experience in identifying and documenting risk areas and mitigation strategies for process and procedure activities.
- Experience in managing schemas, indexing, objects, and partitioning the tables.
- Experience in managing system configurations.
- Experience creating data design models, database architecture, and data repository design.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate details with all levels of management.
- Possess the necessary people skills to identify requirements and deliver results.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior work experience with the Federal Bureau of Investigation is preferred.
- Experience with AWS services and capabilities such as Relational Database Service, Data Migration Service, CloudWatch monitoring and alerting, taking, maintaining, and restoring from snapshots,
interpreting database logs, networking, and security group maintenance.
- Experience creating, managing, and implementing PostgreSQL extensions.
- Experience with pgAdmin, and pgSQL.
- Experience performing data migrations and database conversions (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL).
