Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. The ISSE will be responsible for ensuring the security of enterprise systems and networks, implementing security measures, and complying with security standards and policies. This position requires onsite work and an active Full Scope Polygraph clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Engineering: Design, develop, and implement secure systems and networks, ensuring compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices.

Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate security risks.

Security Solutions: Develop and integrate security solutions, including encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Compliance: Ensure systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as NIST, FISMA, and DoD directives.

Documentation: Create and maintain security documentation, including security plans, risk assessments, and security procedures.

Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the secure operation of information systems.

Incident Response: Assist in the development and implementation of incident response plans and procedures.

Security Reviews: Conduct security reviews and audits of systems to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in information systems security engineering.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies.

Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and encryption.

Strong understanding of network security, application security, and endpoint security.

Experience with risk assessment and management processes.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications are highly preferred.

Clearance: Active Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) clearance is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with: Security automation, DevSecOps practices, and cloud security.

Certifications: Additional certifications such as CEH, GIAC, or Security+.

Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative environment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
