Summary:
The System Engineer will provide support to SIMETRI’s program manager and Chief Engineer in the execution of specified tasks for each program/project/delivery order assigned. The successful candidate will work in and support company level CMMI processes and procedures, ensuring adherence to all relevant efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, executing, delivering, and supporting systems engineering activities for all assigned programs. The successful candidate shall develop architectures, requirements, and systems designs, and then guide a team of engineers through development and fielding for each assigned project. This systems engineer should have a background and experience in system administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Under the Program Manager and Chief Engineer’s direction, be responsible for developing system requirements documents (e.g. Requirement Traceability Matrix) using inputs from contractual documentation (proposal, Performance Work Statement, Capability Needs Statement, etc.), and integrated team members. This position must be familiar with CDRLs and referenced documents to develop the system requirements documentation per the DoD guided documents.
2. Be responsible for developing System Design Documentation.
3. Be responsible for conducting internal and external engineering meetings [external meetings include milestones such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)].
4. Providing all engineering input for Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) which includes inputs to and reviewing test procedure documents, preparing and conducting internal testing protocols and plans.
5. Providing the PM inputs to the Integrated Master Schedule, Monthly Status Reports, Integrated Product Team meetings, other stakeholder meetings, and Resource needs.
6. Providing engineering inputs to proposal efforts to include technical content and pricing inputs for materials, software, hardware needs.
7. Work closely with architects, software, and mechanical engineers to establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
8. Work with project manager and engineers to implement and document complex and evolving system changes, as well as support continuous process automation.
9. Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
10. Oversee the integration of systems and system of systems from inception through deployment and support.
11. Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
12. Experience as System Administrator
13. Experience with simulation and training systems, specific medical training development / deployment preferred. 

Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Experience with applying systems engineering principles to program development lifecycle execution and management.
• Experience with the development of system architecture satisfying complex system requirements.
• Proficiency with requirements elicitation, generation, traceability, and management processes.
• Demonstrated experience translating system and technical requirements into comprehensive solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to adequately plan and meet delivery objectives and maintain adequate service levels in highly dynamic, complex environments.
• Hands on experience with software upgrade and deployment.
• Experience in Software Development Life Cycle including Agile Development processes.
• Experience writing and modifying ETL design documentation, test case documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and communicate technical terms to non-technical audiences with impeccable attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, personal, and governance skills.
• Ability to seamlessly work with team associates involved in project management, security, governance, infrastructure, and asset management to resolve problems and manage projects.
• Conflict resolution, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Experience collaborating with government agencies, especially the Department of Defense (DoD).
• Background in navigating DoD protocols, regulatory requirements, and operational frameworks.
• Success in managing project interactions with DoD stakeholders.
• Experience in information assurance/information security, integration, application development, and systems software.
• Experience using with CM processes.
• Experience using JIRA for issue tracking and requirements documentation.
• Experience with document repositories in MS SharePoint.
• Background in System Administration preferred.

Education:
• BS degree in System Engineering or related engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of system engineering experience including experience installing, managing, and maintaining systems for large, complex systems and data sets.
 
Work Environment: 
The primary work environment characteristics are of a standard office environment with a desk and computer workstation or laptop computer.
