As a Project Manager, you will oversee the design and construction of alternative space projects, typically under 10,000 square feet, within existing leased buildings. You'll work closely with building vendors, contractors, and USPS teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet the required standards.
This role combines technical expertise and project oversight, leveraging your background in architecture or engineering to provide guidance throughout the design and construction process.

Work Arrangement:
- Initial on-site work at a USPS customer location for several months to meet client expectations.
- Upon satisfactory performance, the role may transition to a hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
- Telework requires a reliable computer and Wi-Fi.
- Significant travel may be required for project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage design and construction projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide engineering consulting services, including problem evaluation and alternative development.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and resolve technical issues related to engineering systems and equipment.
- Prepare engineering proposals and justifications, identifying alternatives for review by management.
- Analyze technical, cost, and economic data to recommend solutions for facility upgrades.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction representatives on design and construction tasks.
- Attend key project meetings (e.g., preconstruction and final acceptance) and perform on-site inspections.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), including drawings and specifications.
- Review and evaluate bids for technical accuracy and contract compliance.
- Report on project progress and address noncompliance issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical), or Construction Management (ABET-accredited programs required).
- Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance or a related field.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexibility to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience with minor construction or facility alterations.
