Position: Weapons Safety Manager
Location: Ramstein AB, Germany
Clearance: TS/SCI
Job Description:
Mission Essential is seeking at Weapons Safety Manager for an exciting mission in Germany! The Weapons Safety Manager shall provide UA/SEW explosive site planning to support the European Deterrence Initiative (EDI). Services include conducting site surveys, site development, analysis/risk mitigation, explosive safety site planning, and development of Explosive Site Survey data sets for automated site planning. Experience and duties include:
• Provide recommendations for effective land usage that meets North Atlantic Treaty Organization and US explosive safety requirements.
• Build Explosive Site Survey data sets for installations for quantity distance analysis and produce explosive safety site plans for U-A/SEW review.
• Perform Explosive Site Surveys of installations to collect data on munition capabilities and limiting factors affecting explosive storage and operation capabilities.
• Provide recommendations for actions to be taken by the Government to reduce explosive risk.
• Participate in weekly staff meeting conducted within the directorate to report status of ongoing projects within the scope of the mission.
• Participate in EDI meetings held monthly with representatives of AFCEC and A4 to discuss program status and recommendations.
• Identify facility relationships to determine quantity distance criteria and work with Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) to ensure requirements are met.
• Review design drawings, projects, and construction drawings for compliance with explosive safety, attend design meetings, and provide comments/corrections to design teams.
• Ensure features required by the explosive safety program are included in submittals and designs.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum, 3 years of experience in DoD explosive/weapons safety and 1 year of experience with an automated site planning database.
• BA/BS, 4 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline OR 8 years of directly related experience with proper certifications.
• Must be willing to travel
