Systems Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support software development of Naval gun weapons systems in Dahlgren, VA. The Systems Engineer will develop a design reference mission in coordination with the fleet/sponsors and will develop Mission Analysis tools to assess system effectiveness in order to parameterize the system. Job responsibilities will include d eveloping design reference material in coordination with the fleet/sponsors, d eveloping Mission Analysis tools and a ssess system effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

• Bachelors in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline and five (5) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

• Testing and evaluation experience.
• Experience related to gun weapon systems and/or Army/Navy programs.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of team members on the project.
• Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
• Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word).

Required clearance:

• Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Desired skills:

• Experience related to weapons systems and/or Navy programs preferred.
