Responsibilities

The Atlassian JIRA SME will be responsible for the enterprise multi-tenant Atlassian JIRA and JIRA Service Management services operated by the customer. This position will lead the designing, planning, and operation & maintenance of a catalog of Atlassian products, including but not limited to the following: JIRA, JIRA Service Management, Confluence, and Crowd. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the native functionality of the products, plugin integrations, and overall interoperability of the service in the organizational structure.

Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Design, build, and maintain complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes with a multi-tenancy focus
  • Integrate the front-end UI with custom internally developed API based microservice
  • Research and recommend plugins and testing interoperability within the development environment
  • The SME will apply a solid understanding of Agile principles when recommending project management methodologies (scrum, kanban, waterfall, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the project architect and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints
  • Plan and facilitate requirements gathering workshops to plan Jira workflows and configurations
  • Interpret and translate business requirements into product configurations leveraging Atlassian best practices
  • Configure and administer Jira Software, Jira Core and Jira Service Management plus related plugins
  • Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, global settings, users and groups, screens, dashboards, fields, permission schemes, post functions, etc., to serve as templates for Agile teams and automation workflows
  • Manage and update software and licenses
  • Administer application instances on a day-to-day basis by setting-up and supporting projects, roles, workflows, security, and plug-ins
  • Optimize and improve process workflows and identify where functionality can be improved to meet user requirements
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and fix issues related to Atlassian tools suite, application servers, and database servers
  • Maintain an associated Confluence public pages for the purposes of knowledge management, historical system documents, communication, and wikis


The position may be located at a government facility in Washington, D.C. The government has established policies for on-site vs remote work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

The annual base salary range for this position is $151,000 - $190,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Requirements

  • Active TS with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, computer information systems or another relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 years for relevant experience
  • Familiar with SAFe, Agile, and other JIRA methodologies
  • 5 years experience with Atlassian products and 8 years experience in Agile methodology
