The Prospective Group (TPG) is seeking an experienced Information Assurance Specialist. This position is fully on-site, located at the beautiful campus in Arlington, Virginia. The qualified applicant will become part of our client's Department of State (DOS), Foreign Service Institute (FSI) program. This initiative is aimed at providing IT support, including Information Assurance and LAN Administration Services to the FSI. The FSI is the U.S. government's primary training institution for employees of the U.S. Department of State, as well as for personnel from other federal agencies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct vulnerability assessments of the assigned FSI infrastructure, vulnerability mitigation recommendations, risk assessment and security architecture reviews.
Research, develop, test, implement, and document all approved changes in accordance with the priorities established by the task manager.
Evaluate the existing centralized logging network capabilities, forensic procedures, as well as certification and accreditation procedures. Activities must be documented with results, products and processes in high quality reports.
Research and analyze technology problems, issues, and program requirements in accordance with Department of State Diplomatic Security Configuration Standards.
Scan and monitor assigned systems on a daily basis using Tripwire, Tenable and Web Inspect. Develop reports using the raw data collected and present findings at the weekly Information Assurance Meeting.
Report security violations to FSI ISSO or FSI AISSO as soon as they are discovered, adhering to FSI internal processes for security violations.
Produce FSI specific documentation and user guides.
Utilize proper judgment and provide a high level of customer support in a professional manner.
Basic Requirements:
3 years' experience in IT security management
Bachelor's degree
Active Secret or higher-level clearance. Interim clearances may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience in IT security management
Active TS clearance. Interim clearances may be considered.
